Hopscotch Sport and the FFC Join Forces to Create: FRANCE VELO EVENEMENTS (FRANCE CYCLING EVENTS)
Following a consultation process, the FFC (Fédération Française de Cyclisme – French Cycling Federation) selected Hopscotch Sport to create a joint subsidiary able to provide the Federation with additional expertise, boosting its activities and adding value to its events.
After successfully organizing three UCI World Championships in 2022 (BMX Race, MTB, Track) and being named co-hosts of the 2027 Cycling World Championships with the Haute-Savoie department, the French Cycling Federation is keen to continue developing its events policy and optimize the way it is organized.
The FFC is also committed to incorporating all forms of cycling into its activities, including leisure, transport, and competition.
For this reason, the FFC has chosen to launch France Velo Evenements, a subsidiary created in association with Hopscotch Sport, a vertical of the Hopscotch communications group, and which will complement the skills of the FFC and its many organizer clubs.
The subsidiary’s remit is to publicize existing FFC events and to expand the annual program by creating new concepts. The aim is to raise the profile of these events among partners and fans, and to take a more inclusive approach to all recreational and competitive riders.
From 2023-2024, France Velo Evenements’ initial projects is to create a unique experience open to everyone on the French Road Cycling Championship circuit, and a cycling festival based around the new and growing sport of gravel cycling.
Eric Conrad, CEO of Hopscotch Sport, commented, “With several years of experience organizing and promoting sporting events and providing marketing and commercial support to rights holders, Hopscotch Sport is delighted to be sharing this ambitious project for an events subsidiary with the French Cycling Federation.”
Michel Callot, President of the FFC, commented, “I am proud that the FFC has joined forces with Hopscotch in this ambitious and structured event subsidiary project, which will give a new dimension to federal organizations and strengthen our economic model to the benefit of our development project.”
